Winter courses and March Break Camps are being offered at our local art school, NSCAD University, through the Continuing Education faculty.
Check out the very cool offerings at... https://nscad.ca/study-at-nscad/extended-studies/winter-courses/#marchbreak Keep active AND creative- MAKE ART!!! Social Justice and Anti-Racism are the themes going up in new frames in the main office this week as teachers act on being more aware of every culture represented within our walls, our communities, our city, our province.
#blacklivesmatter #womensrightsarehumanrights #honourourtreaties Sooooo glad to be back in school after the longest MARCH BREAK EVER... All your start up docs, including your monthly sketchbook homework should be posted here, under the class tab... Google classroom is also your ultimate go-to, but this 'blog' tab also allows me to share news and pics, so good to check in once in a while... :0) Ms. P. Ms. PerryRegular postings of monthly homework can be found on the cork board behind the classroom door, as well as on the google classroom, as well as under your classroom tab on the menu bar on the home page of this site... ;0) Deadlines for all assignments are always on the left hand side of the whiteboard in our classroom (#117) AS WELL AS the google classroom for each class. Trying to stay sane and thinking creatively with a bit of humour while isolating for approximately a month now...
Linked some resources on my home page that you can play EYE SPY with, as Noah Scalin does in his amazing book, UNSTUCK, a toolbox for your creativity... Think of creative ways to add eyeballs to places around and in your home as a bit of a game to surprise the ones that discover their odd existence and possibly, elicit some good fun and laughter!! Stay safe ;0) <3 Ms. P. ![]() Do you have an interest in the arts? Have you thought about attending art school, and would like to know how to proceed? Do you find the idea of a portfolio overwhelming, and aren’t sure where to start? If this sounds like you, or someone you know, we welcome you to join us on Saturday, February 15, 2020 for NSCAD’s annual winter Portfolio Day. What is Portfolio Day? Portfolio Day provides an opportunity for potential students to explore NSCAD’s campuses through guided tours, meet professors and current students, gain information about building a portfolio, and learn tips on how to strengthen an application. What does the day look like? Tours take place from 9:15-11:15 a.m. at NSCAD’s Fountain Campus (5163 Duke Street), and 2-3:30 p.m. at NSCAD’s Port Campus (1107 Marginal Road). If you’re looking to have your portfolio reviewed, you can sign up for a one-on-one appointment with a faculty member at Port Campus. You can choose to participate in the day however best suits you and come and go as you please. There will be ample opportunities to ask questions throughout the day, as well as connect with NSCAD students, faculty and staff. For more information on how the day can best benefit you, please contact us directly (contact information below). Do I need a portfolio to attend? Not at all! If you don’t have a portfolio, you’re welcome to bring a few examples of your work (should you have any), or even just your questions and ideas. We welcome anyone, no matter their age, educational background, taste or lived experience, to visit us at NSCAD to find out if we’re the right fight for you. How do I register? If you’d like to attend in person or would like to receive more information about NSCAD through email, please contact the Admissions team by phone 902-494-8259 or by email admissions@nscad.ca, or click here to register. © 2020 NSCAD UniversityOffice of Admissions NSCAD University 5163 Duke St., Room D310 Halifax, NS B3J 3J6 call (902) 494 8259 toll free at 1 888 444 5989nscad.ca my.nscad.ca Stained glass artist, Lynette Richards, schooled us on the lingo and process of designing, cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering our very own piece of stained glass!!
