Violet Rosengarten will be coming to do a half-day workshop with my Visual Arts 12 class November 10th, focusing on abstract painting in acrylic and Lynette Richards will be hosting a 6 hour stained glass workshop in Nov./ Dec. during long Friday lunches for 10 lucky students...Details to follow ;)

Art at Night is a fall festival that brings art and energy to the streets of Halifax between 6pm. and midnight. The 2014 event will take place this Saturday night, October 18th and is completely free. The annual event showcases the visual arts scene of Halifax. Check out http://nocturnehalifax.ca for the program and map to guide you through a variety of exhibitions and galleries in public spaces throughout the city.
Portfolio day is this Saturday, October 18th from 9:30am to 4pm. This is a chance to tour the campus at NSCAD U., get advice on portfolio submission and have someone look at your body of work. Visit my.nscad.ca to register online; click on upcoming events.
Ruby Boutilier, recruitment officer for the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University, is coming to visit with HWHS Visual Arts 12 students on Monday, October 20th during 2nd 'A' block. She is staying after, into the lunch hour, to look at student portfolio work and offer opinions. See Ms. Perry in room B327 if you're interested but are NOT in Visual Arts 12. Also the university is happy to offer tours and the continuing education department is constantly offering classes including a portfolio prep course.
