Through our collaboration with Visual Arts 11, Oceans 11, our visual arts lead team, myself, Mr. Tim Kennedy, and our local artist, Ms. Melissa Marr- we are adopting a whale through the Brier Island Adopt a Whale program!! We are adopting Sockeye, a humpback whale named for a malformation of his lower jaw. He is very social and was just spotted off of Silver Bank, Dominican Republic, escorting a mother and a calf pair. We hope to make this real-life connection to our local Ocean waters a major component of our ArtsSmarts install. We are hoping to have all complete for World Oceans Day on June 8th. Stay tuned ;)

VA 11's- get your permission slips signed for the Rudnicki figure drawing workshop this week and come on Thursday prepared to get a little messy!! VA 10 'b' block- this Friday is part 1 of 2 of your workshop 'Read My Lips" with artist, Jessica Winton. Be prepared to arrive a little early for class (at 12:30) on Friday. Should be awesome ;)   |
